We absolutely love 1054 Togoshi. It's nothing like the big commercial sushi places. This is a special little place where the sushi is amazing and authentic, the presentation is done with such care and the Aloha - Omotenashi hospitality is just wonderful and welcoming. Satoe presents each table with special welcomes in flowers and her artistic crafts. Don't be in a rush and take it all in as it is the perfect combination of Aloha and authentic Japanese cuisine and feel. It's a husband and wife team that are truly interested in you enjoying the experience. It's our favorite place. Go here for the experience and the best sushi we have had... and we have tried them all. It's small and intimate, so make reservations. Truly a special place.

Very authentic Japanese restaurant in a relaxed Hawaiian atmosphere. Our sushi rolls, and miso soup were excellent. Our local friend highly recommended and so do we. Make reservations as the small cozy location seats a limited number.

1054TOGOSHI’s owner, Satoe, is refreshingly open with telling her story, in which it is clear that she is passionate about mixing the Aloha spirit with Omotenashi, or Japanese spirit. Through her sweet and cheerful hospitality, and her husband Chef Manabu’s impeccable sushi craft, we truly felt the mixing of these spirits at dinner tonight in their restaurant. In a world today that can feel artificial and impersonal, this wife-and-husband run restaurant that feels like home made us feel truly connected to the local Maui spirit. Not to mention, every piece of sushi that Chef prepared was incredible too. For a delicious, fresh sushi dinner with heart, please check them out when you visit Maui.

This is such a beautiful place with beautiful food. I’m an avid sushi fan and this hit some of the top notes of what I’d look for in a meal. We got the meal to go. The fish was fresh, rice was wonderfully seasoned and it came together to make a fantastic meal to eat by the beach. Thank you for having us and we look forward to coming back.

While I'm not a sushi fanatic, I did see a photo of shoyu ramen on a review site which is what sparked my interest here as I'm a ramen maniac! And, being that Maui has a weak ramen scene, I have to get my kicks where I can. ATMOSPHERE: They're located within the South Maui Center, a multi-building complex that also houses their neighbor, Fabiani's Bakery & Pizzeria. The all-indoor seating area is bright and clean with a beach theme. A small counter area seats about 10 souls along with four 4-toppers. Muffled pop music played overhead while the other diners ate silently. Luckily, we brought some life to the joint, LOL! MENU: Sake, Japanese shochu/whiskey/beer/wine, Japanese apps & seafood apps, lots of sushi, a sole ramen, miso soup. BEVERAGE: Sararito Shita Umesyu I've never had plum wi
