Customer Reviews
I was on a business trip and got taken to 801 Local restaurant — it had one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. I ordered their signature steak, and it was absolutely delicious. Great customer service, warm atmosphere, and definitely a place worth visiting with colleagues to enjoy the experience.
One of my new favorite places. Great service! Food was tasty and the old fashioned drink is a must have. Our server Lillian was awesome! Will be back.
Stopped into 801 Local in Frontenac and wasn’t sure what to expect, but the place delivers. First thing you notice? The giant English bulldog statue. It’s not just a quirky photo op. Strong, grounded, kind of charming in its own way. Felt like a subtle signature of the place. I ordered the blackened mahi sandwich and I’m really starting to love blackened spices. That bold, smoky flavor with just enough heat to wake things up is my fave. The fish was cooked just right flaky and fresh and the sandwich came together so well it didn’t need any dressing up. The space is sleek but comfortable, and the menu has a solid mix of refined and approachable items. Definitely a spot I’d come back to, especially when I’m in the mood for something that feels elevated but not overdone.
We had the steak salad and the squash ravioli, which both were amazing combinations and mash ups that we’ve not experienced before. The steak had a little bit of fat with it, who am I kidding, it had a lot of fat on it. Choose better cuts. It was grilled and cooked to perfection and the server did a great job. There’s a bulldog theme throughout the whole thing. Nobody knew the story behind a bulldog. Make up a story. Make it fun. Do it now! Make some story like, Butch the Bulldog, the owners life long friend, were on a walk and suddenly a bus load of Nuns crashed their inter-contenital bus and burst into flames! Butch didn't miss a beat and saved 7 nuns from a firey death before the fire department arrived. Treated for his wounds and burns the two went on with their walk. Be like Butch.
Best prime rib we've ever had. The service is great. Mainstay cocktails like old fashioned or manhattan are very well executed. The braised spare rib was great. We will be coming back.
