I really enjoy this little Library. Moore County Library System is so willing to send books to Aberdeen for pickup. They go out of their way. And the Librarian in Aberdeen is just excellent, very efficient and very helpful. Looking forward to when they build the new library so we can have more books
This library is much too small and antiquated for a community this size. Aberdeen should consider building a larger and more contemporary library that could also serve as a center of culture for the town and area. That is to say, it would simultaneously be an art gallery, place for conventions/gatherings, nexus/archive of local history, source of online programming, and root of community events and organizing. That would better fit the vibrant quality of the town.
I am frustrated with the librarian who works on Wednesday (3/14). I had previously called to ask how to get a bookmobile card for my 3 children (the eldest had a card 2 years ago and it was no problem getting a card). The person on the phone told me to just bring A drivers license. Since the library hours are tight, I have to really plan in order to be in Aberdeen during the library hours. I was finally in the area but it wasn’t time for the library to be open so I traveled up US 1 to do an errand and then back down again. ( I even chose to get the bookmobile card over grocery shopping for dinner - I had about 50 minutes before picking up my children in southern pines.). The librarian insisted that she needed to see my children first. I pointed out that during 2 of the days the library
Realize we are able to be served by the second oldest continuing operating library in all NC. Impressive
