Above the Sound Bed & Breakfast

This place was a bit suspicious... nice staff, good food, beds AND breakfast, a little too good to be true, and the view was too pretty to be real. Im sure all the windows are screens. their tuna sandwiches tasted fishy too...

Delightful is the word that comes to mind about this B&B. Absolutely delightful would better describe the experience. The accomodations are very comfortable and inviting. We stayed in the two bedroom downstairs apartment which is eclectically furnished with memorabilia and reminders of the rustic outdoors. The gardens are charming and the proprietors, Bill and Cindy, are the perfect hosts who go out of their way to insure your stay is the best it can be. The breakfast was over the top fantastic. A real gem not to be missed!

There are not enough words of praise that I get give for Above The Sound. The amenities are wonderful. The owner, Bill, makes you feel at home with friendliness and the gardens are absolutely enchanting! I was traveling along and my original hotel accommodations were dangerous. My husband screened and promptly booked a reservation for me! I felt so welcomed and safe in this wonderful B&B gem! Thank you Bill for such a fabulous experience! How could I forget to mention - the bed was so comfortable!

The couple that own this B&B, Bill & Cindy, live on site. They are two of the nicest people you will ever meet, and they made our stay there exceptional. Bill has perfected the dishes he serves for breakfast. They are very high quality, and are time tested. We were a mere mile or so from Fort Lewis. Our son serves on that base for the US Army. So, convenience was great! While the house is fairly common structure, don't let that dissuade you - the garden and yard are absolutely incredible - a photographer's paradise. Bill and Cindy know the area very well, and offer great suggestions for activities, restaurants,... If you ask them. They were extremely accommodating for our busy schedule. We spent 9 days at this B&B. I would highly recommend it. Felt like a home away from home -

I discovered this B&B when I brought my youngest out to see Washington after their high school graduation in 2015. I returned for a visit again with another family member in 2018. Both times, Bill was a such gracious host to us...actually, gracious is an understatement! I feel like I am staying with family when I've stayed there. The upstairs room is so peaceful. I sleep so well there! And I still dream about the sunporch breakfasts we had before going on our daily adventures. It's a lovely experience that I will always treasure and hope to be able to do again in the future. I hear the Sound calling me as I write this! So grateful to these wonderful folks for opening up their home as a B&B!
