Don’t ask for out of state delivery. Great pies. I walked in over the holidays while visiting and asked if they delivered. They did. I wanted to get some for my parents, as they like Navy bean pie. Not only is it several weeks late (arriving today Feb 5), as my original order was the last week of December. It came destroyed. I asked in person at the shop if I could pay extra for priority shipping. They do not offer the service. That’s fair. But they do not do anything special with shipping to prevent destruction apparently. Would like to see options for speed (higher priority shipping gets better attention and less likely to be destroyed), better packaging, and special shipping (I think there are ways to label as fragile? Perishable?). Thanks.

As soon as you walk into Abu's bakery you're sense are hit with the beautiful aroma of fresh baked goods. Their bean pie is legendary. I've tried a few of their cakes as well and all have been superb. This time I got oreo cake, carrot cake & apple crumb pie and as always it was all very delicious. Abu's is a neighborhood staple & they've been around for 25 years as of 2025 so you know they are legit! Callaloo patty was a burst of yummy flavors. Their Banana bread & brownies are so soft and moist your teeth sink right in. I love this bakery 😍.

When you step inside the aroma of freshly made pastries and cakes fills the air. The bakery is clean and very friendly staff. Got a few of the mini famous bean pie, freshly made. Also purchase the banana pudding it were very fresh and delicious.

I ordered the six 6” pies on a Saturday and they arrived the following Wednesday. That’s a four day delivery time from Brooklyn, NY to just outside of Washington, DC. That’s a very reasonable time frame, in my opinion. I’ve been eating bean pies for over 50 years, so I consider myself somewhat of an expert. I found the quality of these pies to be excellent. Bean can vary in recipe and taste, depending on the baker. Some are made with custard, which I don’t mind, and others have added ingredients. Abu’s bean pie is a classic bean pie. The kind that got me hooked growing up. The crust was flaky with a hint of buttery flavor and the filling pleasantly sweet. The last time I was in Brooklyn, I attempted to stop by and pick up some pies on the way back home. Unfortunately, parking is impossible

I purchased a cake here for my Mother's birthday it was so dry and unpleasant. I was embarrassed when my Mother cut into it but when she tasted it and I saw her face , I knew! After I tasted it, I can confirm, NEVER again for a cake. Maybe Id go for a pie because the customer service was good.
