My husband went in he said they were nice and affordable prices but when we came out to try the food it tasted horrible. We got the curry chicken and it tasted soggy. It’s edible but doesn’t taste tender and hard like curry chicken is supposed to taste like.
Thoroughly enjoyed eating here. Service was great, welcoming. I had the oxtail mini, rice/peas steamed cabbage and a side of stew peas. Oxtail fall off the bone tender, very well seasoned and cooked, cabbage good, stew peas delicious, and for good measure I took a large chicken soup that is equally delicious for my meal tonight. I highly recommend this place if craving some Jamaican food.
I went here about a year or so and the food was good. On a this nice Saturday I wanted oxtail. I went here to experience the biggest oxtails of my life. With light brown gravy. And when they shared the plate I said that oxtail seems more like American style or something but not Jamaican. Got my food started eating it. There was no taste, a lot of fat.seems like it was made the day before: Then when I went back to the cashier for hot sauce , her accent changed. I immediately asked her “you’re not Jamaica”? That’s when she revealed that she is Haitian. Then everybody started speaking creole in the back. Yo let me tell you something, as a Jamaican who just spent $26 on a nice Saturday like that and to be mislead like that. I was furious. If the food was bad, it happens sometimes. Could be
First time here.. Food was good. Service would be better There were roaches crawling by the front door, although it’s a common occurrence in Florida it’s definitely worth attending to by the manager. Not sure i would be back to eat here.
Ackee Tree Jamaican Restaurant This was my first visit, but I came on the recommendation of a friend who raves about this place as the best Jamaican eatery in Fort Lauderdale. Upon arrival, I noticed several people enjoying their meals at this casual spot located in a strip mall. We were greeted warmly by the two ladies working at the counter. I ordered the large oxtails for $21, a Bigga grapefruit soda, and a jerk patty for tomorrow’s lunch. The portions were massive—7 tender, juicy oxtails served with rice and peas, steamed vegetables, and perfectly fried plantains. The oxtails tasted as amazing as they looked, the vegetables were nicely steamed, and the plantains were perfection. I wouldn’t hesitate to stop here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Jamaican c
