Ack's Place

I went there on 11/30 after being on duty ALL DAY and then to hospital watching my grandmother who is on hospice, to visit my friends that said they needed to see me. All I wanted after not eating all day was A STEAK salad, add grilled chicken. One for me and my daughter. They brought the bag out. Sealed tight, so me trusting them, I was like ok. My friend said they normally do the right thing! Traveled 30 minutes to get home to find out that they literally screwed my order up. I called, left message, no called back. Called again 12/1, manager did not bother to call me back. Pictures of my salads. Both were made this way. All this money for freaking no food! Livid! Poor management for not calling me back!

I’ll start off by saying the drinks here are very good. Abby is a highly skilled bartender. The Coco Loco (I think that was the name) tasted like a Bahama mama, and was the perfect strength. The food was ok. We got the boom boom shrimp as an appetizer, it was loaded in sauce. Way too much sauce, the shrimp was good though. I will absolutely be trying the souvlaki sticks next time. I made the mistake of ordering a pizza, and it wasn’t bad, but I wouldn’t get one again from here. We sat down about 1.5 hours before close and about 30 minutes before close, we were getting rushed out by our waitress, while there were still plenty people dining inside and a few outside. Now called Acks Food was ok. That said, I have never had to pay a $6.00 upcharge on a Taco Salad for seasoned hamburger until last night. Service was great. They relocated us to try and get us into a seat that was not drafty and cold. Atmosphere, I do not think you should have to wear a winter coat to while having dinner in a restaurant. Next it is impossible to have a conversation in the restaurant due to background noise. I think the lack of sound proofing or a drop ceiling is a possible cause for this. We were hoping for changes under the new management and what we got was just more of the same.

The food was impeccable, and the service was even better! Our server, Emma B., was fantastic—very personable and attentive. She truly elevated the entire experience. We’ll definitely be back!

Recommended to me for their wings and i must say the wings served "hard" were a very nice change from normal wings. Had a nice grilled/smokey flavor. I got the slovaky skewers as well, which were also great. I ordered take out and my 3 yr old was thirsty when we got there. The two very nice hostesses got him a cup of water with his favorite color straw "for the road". I had a great experience and will be going back again.
