Afton Tavern

Thanks to another google review with a picture of the waffle fry cheese fries, we stopped in for lunch and so glad we did! The food was great. Large portions, prompt service, and no issues. Do yourself a favor and get those cheese fries! We will definitely be back.

This place seems fine at first, more like a local hangout than anything else. My bartender was very friendly and approachable. I ordered a beer, cheese curds and a club sandwich. Simply horrible! Beer was fine but the food was terrible. The club had no taste, heck think the turkey was even raw. Again, great service just terrible food. I won’t be back.

Not a bad place to go as individuals but not the best place for large catered gatherings. Afton tavern is tucked away in Afton Ridge, not too difficult to find. There was a function to which I attended there at Afton Tavern which was to be catered with food and drinks. The service was absolutely amazing. The ladies and gents working the tables were phenomenal and friendly. The food on the other hand was not what was expected. It was not made to order and setup as a buffet style grab n go. The steak was in a watered down heated pan and did not have the flavor to be desired. Salmon was good but not at the level it could have been. Everything almost had the feel that the food was cooked hours in advance and reheated.

Stopped in for lunch while visiting the Mustang Museum and Charlotte Motor Speedway, and this place hit the spot. We had the crispy chicken salad and the shrimp wrap — both were delicious, perfectly prepared, and served quickly with generous portions. Everything tasted fresh and clearly made with care. Emily was our server and she was outstanding. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming — the kind of service that makes you feel like a regular on your very first visit. She checked in at just the right times, kept everything running smoothly, and made the whole experience even better. Great local vibe, easy parking, and a solid beer selection too. Afton Pub & Pizza is officially our go-to lunch stop whenever we’re in Concord!

Second time dining here on the patio, and it was fabulous. Good service, good food, and beautiful weather. Thursday drink specials from the tap. When you come, you just feel like lingering over libations and conversation, as the ambiance is welcoming.
