The BEST! It breaks my heart that mainlanders don’t know what a malasada is. Service was great, food was delicious, and prices were reasonable. This will be my first stop when I’m back on the island!
This is a special message cuz uncle wasn't working Friday, my day off. We drove special to eat Agnes' Malasadas only to be told by the young man behind the window at 12:43 he was closed down already, "Sorry, I already took my last customer." At 12:43?? Ok, guess that's so he could go home one o'clock, when they technically close. Sorry I made the special trip. Sorry that's not what the sign says. Shame Kailua.
the best malassadas we’ve ever had! we were in town visiting for vacation and were recommended by a local and they did not disappoint. You can call ahead and they’ll be ready in 15 minutes so hot & fresh. highly recommend!
Agnes’ Portuguese Bakeshop is a MUST TRY spot on island. If you’ve never heard of what a malasada is, this is where you should build your understanding of what they are. The service is impeccable, Noah and Bella were very kind and the malasadas themselves were absolutely delicious. Ever so slightly crunchy on the outside, and warm and fluffy on the inside. It’s like biting into a warm sugary cloud! What really separates Agnes’ from other popular spots like Leonard’s, is that they make every malasada FRESH TO ORDER!!! Doesn’t get much better than that, biting into a hot and fresh malasada is unbeatable. However since they are made fresh to order, I’d recommend calling and ordering at least 10-15 minutes ahead so that you don’t have to wait. Overall great experience!! The food truck has a
What was once a beloved brick-and-mortar bakery in Kailua for nearly 50 years, Agnes’ Portuguese Bake Shop closed its doors in 2018 but lives on triumphantly as a beloved food truck. Parked in the Manuheali‘i lot at 5 Ho‘olai St., it revives the iconic malasadas that locals still rave about—made fresh to order, hand-dropped for that signature hole, crispy outside, chewy inside, and generously dusted with sugar (or cinnamon sugar if you ask). These are arguably the most authentic Portuguese malasadas on O‘ahu. The truck keeps things simple and traditional, focusing on hot, fresh malasadas served in brown paper bags—ideal for grabbing on the way to the beach or enjoying right there with aloha vibes from the friendly team. Get there early, if you can. Whether you're a longtime Kailua reside
