Akira Sushi

Stopped in for a casual sushi meal and had a mixed but overall positive experience. Food: Miso Soup (3.5/5): Hot and comforting. Nothing special, but solid. Seaweed Salad (3/5): Fine and fresh, but pretty average. Sake Nigiri (3/5): Okay, but a bit heavy on the rice compared to the fish. Grilled Steak Roll (3/5): Steak, avocado, and cheese. It was fine, but the cheese flavor was too strong and there was too much rice, which took over the bite. Seared Salmon (5/5): Wow. This was the highlight of the meal. Very tender, perfectly seared, and full of flavor. This alone is a reason to come here. Smoked Salmon (3.5/5): Good and nicely balanced, with fish that was not too thick and a decent amount of rice. Edamame (3.5/5): Beans were good inside, though the pods were a bit firm and cooler

I recently checked out this new sushi spot, and I have to say, for the price, it’s a steal! The customer service was excellent—super friendly and attentive staff who made the experience even better. The highlight for me was the Naruto Roll—a fresh, flavorful combination of tuna, salmon, kani, and avocado, all wrapped in crisp cucumber instead of rice. It was light, refreshing, and packed with great texture and taste. If you're looking for delicious sushi on a budget with top-notch service, this place is a must-try!

By far the best track sushi option I’ve been to in Portland. So many options and I love that they have photos of the rolls that you can order that move along the track. Because of this, I ordered things I have never had before because they looked good. The servers were flustered but they were quite busy so I can forgive it. Reasonable prices. Overall it was great and we will go back!

I have been a long time customer of Akira Sushi Clackamas, basically since they opened. Unfortunately when the owner or Nga are not there the employees are cutting many corners and the food and service have gone very downhill. I ordered seared salmon and watched them microwave it then lightly sear the top… what did it taste like? Microwaved fish (gross!). They did this to the people sitting across from me as well. By the time I left the whole restaurant smelled like microwaved fish. It was truly disgusting and I do not know if I will ever return. Be careful to not go on days where there is no management.
