Albany Public Library - Bach Branch

My experience so far at this location has been pleasant, friendly, nice. However the staff here is very nice and helpful.

Front desk is pretty rude and don’t have any manners or etiquette and when they do it’s to certain people only. While staff regularly exchange pleasantries with other patrons, I experienced repeated silence when initiating basic courtesies (hello, thank you). For some of these courtesies were extended to only certain people and not everyone it was pretty rude especially because it wasn’t a one time thing even in one interaction they act like you’re bothering them for simple basic questions like asking them for help or anything…

Small, quiet little library with a decent selection of books and friendly staff. It is on the bus line but is also easily walkable as well if you decide to go to the near by food places on New Scotland Ave, it's great to stop in and check out a book to read later.

This is just a review on the Library as a place to go and do some work. The study rooms are humid and way too hot an uncomfortable to be in. I was told there is no way to have the temperature changed and that it was a “known issue”. Fortunately there is an outside area that I was able to work in that was quiet. My laptop all of a sudden could not get back on the network. I tried asking the staff for assistance but no one there seemed to have any tech ability or information on why I couldn’t get back on the network. Pretty disappointing experience.

Quiet, organized, friendly and efficient staff, huge collection of thriller/horror/mystery content, always have my books ready when I order them, and never harasses me about late fees! It's literally the perfect Third Place; get a library card!
