Great Italian sandwich spot. The ingredients were so fresh and delicious. The prosciutto was great and the mozzarella with the olive oil and tomato and basil were great. The focaccia was also very good but it was a tad bit too crunchy for me. I was expecting a slightly softer bread texture. Staff was super nice and quick and helpful in suggestions. The place looks like a clean neat deli with nice indoor and outdoor seating along Abbot Kinney.
We were so excited to finally try this place and see what all the hype was about. We love a good Italian sandwich and have tried plenty of competitors around LA, so expectations were high… unfortunately, this was a letdown. The biggest issue for us was the bread. It tasted almost stale — definitely not fresh, with zero crunch — and it was tough to bite through. For a sandwich spot like this, the bread really needs to shine, and it just didn’t. We tried the New Yorker (roast beef) and the Italian Hot (turkey with hot honey). The fillings themselves were flavorful and solid, but the bread really dragged the whole experience down. Prices were about what we expected for the area. Service was fine, and the staff was very friendly. We did enjoy the outdoor patio, which is nice for people-watc
Wow wow WOW. Completely worth the venture to get here (we live about 30 mins from WITHOUT any traffic) They were quite busy, but the staff were all very gracious to us waiting in line. They were also more than happy to describe in detail (felt like an education!) the questions about some menu items we had. Have I mentioned the staff was absolutely wonderful, so kind, warm & full of gratitude for all its patrons. Led by their manager Austin who took the opportunity to walk around checking in on the tables after their rush died down. That’s very uncommon & hospitable beyond! I wish I had captured more pictures of the sandwiches we got, but I wasn’t planning to write a review until the sandwiches had been devoured. Their portions could easily feed two & the variety of options are all SO decad
We visited this location and had lunch. The quality of the food is very high, the “schiacciata” is very similar to the one they serve in Florence, maybe just less oily than the Italian one. It reminded us our lovely Italian food, absolutely a place to visit (on Sunday we had to wait in line for a bit but it is worth the wait). Staff very friendly, maybe would be better to pay first and then order then the other way around.
My friend and I purchased tickets for a bread making night. We had such a good time. I learned a lot about their bread and left with a very full belly.
