ALPHA KONEY

Decent coney island, food was good and waitress was friendly. I kinda thought the omelet I ordered was cooked kinda weird though. They cooked the vegetables into the egg itself instead of into a proper omelet. Still a solid breakfast.

This 1-star review is for Stacy, the server assigned to our table. She looked at us and even stared our way several times but never came to take our order. After waiting too long, we finally asked for help, and thankfully another server, Heidi, stepped in. Heidi was outstanding—she explained the menu options to my daughter, treated us kindly, and gave us the service we should have received from the start. Eventho food didn’t taste excellent-pancake soggy and bacon didn’t taste fresh, service is excellent. Overall Unfortunately, the way we were ignored by Stacy left a very negative impression. Because of that, I will not be returning. The experience made this place feel discriminatory toward non-white customers.

My wife and I try to get to Alpha Koney at least once a month, and our visit yesterday was great. We were pleasantly surprised to see some new faces on staff, and from the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and made to feel right at home. The atmosphere always feels inviting—clean tables, and easy, comfortable seating. Our server was delightful, introducing herself with a smile and setting the cheerful tone for our meal. My wife ordered saganaki, and our server, while nervous, lit it like a pro, with the staff applauding and cheering her on! Even with a steady flow of guests, the restaurant never felt chaotic or disorganized. The staff worked well together and stayed focused on providing us with exceptional service. July 2023 - I met up with some friends from out of state. Never been to Michigan and wanted to take them to a good restaurant as they were staying in Jackson. I thought the reviews were good so why not try the place. They were busy for breakfast, but not that bad on a Saturday that you had to wait. The staff was very kind. My kids ordered 3 different pancakes with 2 wanting whipped cream. Blueberry, chocolate chip and plain. All 3 loved the pancakes and want us to come back. All 3 of my daughters are from 5-10. I ordered the farmers omelette with sausage instead of ham. That was very good and I had nothing leftover. Overall, a great place to stop in to get a great meal for a good price. A lot of food and my friend ordered the hash and she said it was good.

Has changed a lot since three of their best servers left. They're having two new people and an extra manager do the job one person used to do flawlessly on her own. I used to feel a lot more relaxed there but now I feel like there's no atmosphere.
