Altamonte Springs Library

Go to any other Library!!! I visited this library to attend a virtual tutoring session. I put my headphone on and kept my volume low to not disturb the 3 other people in the library. An older librarian approached me and stated that phone calls need to be taken outside. Before I had a chance to explain that I was on a zoom tutoring session, she walked away. I then went to the front desk to clarify the situation and asked if I could use the study booth to finish my session, especially since it was unoccupied. She told me no, the wifi reaches outside. When I looked outside, there were no seats or tables there. I’ve used study spaces at public libraries for virtual tutoring and have never experienced something like this. The library is small but has everything you need. The kids programs and storytimes are excellent. My daughter loves coming here every week.

Very clean building, no obvious mold. Overhead fluorescent lighting. Staff are welcoming, informative and friendly. It is a whispering environment, although the fire alarm batteries are low this week so if you’re looking for a quiet place to read your books this isnt it for right now. Otherwise, please bring or find two statements or mail items to show you live in Seminole County, even if your ID shows different, that is also required. So ID and two pieces of mail. Sign up process was very easy and I was delighted to stumble upon a coloring table with exquisite marker selection to work on while I found the books I’d come for. I have been at this library three times now. The first time I had a nice experience obtaining a library card and learning about all the services the library has to offer from the front desk receptionist. I can’t remember her name, but she was very lovely and friendly to talk to and I checked out a book that day. I came back today on August 5th around 2:30 pm to inquire about fax and printing services and the two ladies that were working at the library today were very rude and unhelpful. Despite their inability to assist us, my husband told them thank you anyways as we headed out and she completely ignored him. This same woman also scoffed and rolled her eyes at me when I was confused about which computers to use. This makes for a very unpleasant experience. I didn’t get their names, but if

A fantastic library! We are proud to raise our child in a library that values the gifts of learning, information, and community. Even with more limited space, they offer so much in the way of resources, classes, activities, and enrichment. Support this Library!
