Ambrosia Kaféneio by The High Country Greek

Stopped in for lunch. I enjoyed my lettuce wrap grilled chicken, but the Taziki sauce was all accumulated at the bottom of the wrap so I fork/knifed the meal which I would’ve anyway since I don’t like eating messy food with my hands. The fries were delicious and hard to stop eating. The wrap had a good generous amount of chicken. Staff was friendly and helpful. Place had a good vibe - even the music was on point for a Mediterranean style restaurant. Orders are placed @ counter. They did bring our lunches to the table. Don’t know if that’s the norm when they get busy.

We had Rice bowl with Lamb & Chicken gyro, loved it. Their dessert collection was amazing and we end up trying chocolate cake and Kunafa based custard kinda thing. Both were delicious and I really loved the perfect amount of sweetness in them. Like not too sugary nor bland but just perfect. It’s a family restaurant and they treated their customers with huge respect and super friendly. Many artifacts were interesting to see. I would highly recommend this place.

HOLY COW my socks are BLOWN CLEAN OFF. I love ambrosia fav spot in Boone I hadn’t been since they made room for the bakery but I was not disappointed. I got the crazy chicken with a side of orzo salad and it was so insanely good. Tasted so good and fresh. The fellow that take my order was so polite and great! The manager was working on stuff in the dining area and was attentive to me and my needs. I asked him about the bakery and he offered me a donut to try! So phenomenal would so highly recommend!

This is hands-down some of the best Greek food I’ve had anywhere, which is honestly astounding considering it’s tucked away in the mountains and not in a major metro city. The owner Mike and his Greek wife have an amazing story which he kindly shared with us during our visit. The ambience and service was terrific and the back history to the place is also amazing, considering her family comes from many generations of being in the Greek restaurant industry, which shows in the quality of the food and the amazing Greek baking! I ordered the lamb gyro, and it was absolutely perfect: beautifully cooked, well-seasoned, tender, and topped with just the right amount of tzatziki so nothing overpowered anything else. I’ve been a fan of Ambrosia back since they were High Country Greek. Our meal tonight was fantastic - Crazy Chicken Gyros, Greek Salad, Orzo Pasta and Fries. Everything was so very fresh and good! As I was leaving, one of the owners introduced me to their new bakery items. We chose a slice of the Baklava Cheesecake and I have to say it was unreal. If you’re a baklava fan and a cheesecake fan, you will love this! They also had Carrot Cake, Limoncello Cake, and a couple of other items to choose from. Highly, highly recommend!
