Amsterdam Free Library

I had to get some tax forms they printed them off and I was on my way in only a few minutes

This is a beautiful building. Staff is very kind and it is clean and quite. The children's section has a vast selection toys for the kids to play with as well as pictures to color. I noticed four or six computers upstairs for studying. Not sure about the first floor, though. Overall, great time here picking out a few books to read to my little one.

I enjoy coming here to use my laptop for the wireless service. The staff also are big fans of my dog, who gets very excited every time I ask him if he wants to go to the library. I'm always looking for places I can bring my "Fur-Buddy" with me. Also the staff are very helpful if you need it.

3/5 stars. It's a cute little library and the staff is friendly for the most part but they really need to improve with categorizing their books by subject. It's such a pain having to find a romance or sci-fi book among the fiction section; everything is just bunched up. Books by the same author will be on different shelves. We are having a snowstorm today and I had to return some DVDs that were due today and I called ahead to make sure they were still open. The person that answered happily replied that I could return them even though they were closing in fifteen minutes. I rush over there and it's 11:52 AM and I had at least three people telling me rather rudely that they were closed. Very friendly to all ages. On the first floor they offer variety of things for adults and on the second floor they offer activities for children. Small and big kids truly a wonderful place in the community. I would go here as a child and I'm happy I can bring my children.
