We had a nice little lunch here while visiting the museum. Fish sandwich w/chips and clam chowder w/crackers. Service was friendly.
Anchor Mystic is a breakfast, lunch, and pastries spot located right outside of the Mystic Seaport Museum. There are some outdoor and indoor seating. They had a variety of pastries to choose from. We stopped in before visiting the museum. We needed breakfast and coffee. We came for cookies and a muffin which were good. The coffee was okay. Overall, a decent spot to get a quick snack though!
Wow!!! Friendly staff, cute cafe with indoor and outdoor seating, yummy breakfast sandwiches! My only observation is that the Taylor Ham isn't really Taylor Ham, it's thick sliced ham (I'm from NJ so I know Taylor Ham 😉). I also asked for another egg on the breakfast sandwich, and the girls were more than happy to oblige!! The crumb cake was soooo good! Moist and fresh, with lots of crumble on top. DELISH!!!! The menu was pretty large with lots of options. Support local business and give this place a try!
For a café attached to a museum, I had set the bar low. Honestly, it was pretty good. $27 for a lobster roll and chips. $8.50 for clam chowder - actually pretty normal pricing for those items. The food itself was good overall. The Clam Chowder is more of a "soup" rather than a "chowder". Hence, I'd skip that option. The other sandwiches (including the Lobster Roll) were nice. If I needed to eat at the museum again, I'd certainly come check this spot out again. That said, I don't think you should eat here if you have time to go elsewhere. Mainly because you are in Mystic, and there are remarkable places around! Spend the extra few moments and go to a more established eatery!
Really good food at not bad prices. Staff was super nice. Had the pulled pork and it was tasty. The Oreo milkshake was the best part though and you should get it if you have the chance.
