Anna's Brick Oven Pizza-Pasta

I visit Williamsburg about twice a year for work. I been eating at Anna's since 2012? Ordered an appetizer, Salmon with Vodka sauce pasta for the wife and a pizza for me. My wife's pasta and Salmon had no flavor. My pizza looked great, but had no taste. I felt like I was eating unsalted bread. I asked the waiter if I could have some oregano or Italian seasoning to put on the pizza. He said they didn't have any and that I could put the red pepper flakes that was in the dispenser at the table. REALLY?? Never had that happen to me before. Never refilled the water glasses, until we had to ask for more water. Never cleared any of the empty plates. The appetizer dish and small plates sat their during the entire meal. Nice staff, young teenagers, great attitudes, but some of the basics

My husband and I love Brick oven pizza so we decided to try Anna's while in town. I have to say, they do not skimp on their cheese or toppings. The pizza had a nice lightly charred crust, and the 16 inch was more than enough for the two of us. Our server was extremely nice and attentive; very professional. Establishment was clean and comfortable. Prices seemed reasonable for the quality.

Was excited to try this. I love brick oven pizza, but this wasn’t it. After a long wait, It was soggy and almost under cooked. No leoparding of the crust which is my favorite part of a brick oven pizza. Ordered fries as an appetizer and it wasn’t brought out ahead of the pizza. I was disappointed.

This place sees to be a staple and tradition around the area, very busy, so I didn't want to wait for a table. Combo Pizza (17.99): The pizza isnt' really a brick oven taste and the dough is very plain. The toppings volume wasnt a great balance and there was little meat. The pizza dough is extremely plain and tasted like store bought pizza or just a standard oven baked pizza. No crisp taste to it, the end crust ended up hard like a rock within minutes of eating it fresh? No flavor to the crust, light on the sauce. It didn't taste anything like a true brick oven pizza compared to places like Frank Pepe's or Fireworks Pizza if you know them. Very unsatisfied was it. Just finished a dinner at Anna’s with my family, and we were a bit underwhelmed by our experience there. Positives: GREAT service. The waitress was quick, polite, and our food came out really quickly. She warrants 5 out of 5 stars. The bread that they served before dinner was delicious as well (buttered, seasoned, and hot). It was a nice start to what we hoped would be a good meal. The price for the entire meal was also very reasonable for 4 people. Areas of improvement: While the portion size of the lasagna was ginormous(which I appreciated: it was a 7” X 7” hunk of lasagna), the flavor was lacking.
