Applebee's Grill + Bar

We live one mile from this Applebees Grill + Bar, and even if it’s a chain, our food has always been great. Davenport has a lot of chain restaurants, and it’s tough to be in the restaurant business these days, if you haven’t noticed. We have consistently had good service here, with polite and attentive servers. Our food has always been fresh, and if there was a small issue, it was taken care of immediately. I sure LOVE their BBQ riblets. My husband loves their chicken. The restaurant is clean, as are the bathrooms, and you’ll enjoy your dinner here. We saw a lot of families enjoying eating together. I think of a restaurant as an event, a place to go to enjoy time away from your home. I wouldn’t necessarily order food from this location, but I would definitely recommend you go in and be sea

Service was fair, not too much of a wait. Food not so great. We were seated within 5 minutes and greeted right away. The restaurant was not too busy. Our food didn't take too long but there were a few things wrong. First the mc and cheese was dry and was sent back. Two of the pastas were dry, the sause consistency was super thick. We asked for more sauce but it didnt make it any better. Also the tenders were kinda over fried. The appetizers, boneless wings, and spinach dip, were pretty good and fresh. Chips were crispy. The bourbon chicken platters were also good, although they missed the mushrooms on one platter. The 2 for one drinks were also pretty good. I may visit again to give the benefit of the doubt, maybe just not a good day.

Have been to handful of Applebee’s across the US over the years; never the best experience but always good enough. This time, bad. Very bad. Fourty-five mins to take our order despite a not full restaurant and countless servers walking by. Another full hour before we saw food. Most of it arrived cold - the kids corn dogs were cold (felt refrigerated); pasta was cold. Kids were incredibly antsy after the excessive wait. Plenty of staff moving around and excuses for issues were being offered to many tables. Issues amounted all over the restaurant. One table of TWO stormed out after 90 mins of waiting. Other tables were seated and fed quickly. Extremely inconsistent service. The busser / host was rather obnoxious and couldn’t seem to stay out of others people’s discussions and conversations.

Visited Applebees 6th October on orange lake blv, while on vacation it was very quiet inside, so sat down and ordered a coffee was informed that they would have to make a fresh pot and this would take 15 mins.. Not a problem but when coffee arrived it was Luke warm. we ordered food, one order of mac and cheese with chicken tenders and the other order of shrimp and bourbon chicken with garlic mash and mushrooms. When the mac and cheese came it were more like penn pasta with bechemel sauce, had no cheese flavour the tenders was Luke warm the best bit were the bread. The shrimp and chicken were sat in a puddle of grease the food was hot there was no garlic flavouring in the mash as described in the menu, chicken were bland no flavour what so ever, We never saw the staff after the food were

Food and service was amazing. My margarita was so good. Cookie skillet best dessert on the menu.Overall I had amazing time.
