Applebee's Grill + Bar

Tonight we went out for my fiancés birthday with some friends (forgot to tell the waitress but he didn’t want me to). I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad experience here tbh. If I can edit I’ll add in our servers name she was great! Even got dessert to-go, that skillet chocolate chip pie thing has me in a chokehold. My fiance got wings and a shark bowl his usual. I ordered the chicken tender platter with fries and Mac and cheese (haven’t done the Mac & cheese before). Overall everything was great!

We had good service. The food left a bit to be desired. We were a party of two, one of us ordered the sirloin cooked medium, served rare. Sent back to be cooked longer, however it came back just as rare but a flavor that was off. The other order was the riblets, the flavor was ok but they were room temperature at best. I will say the salads were very good. Management did us good, all our food was free for our issues. However we would have rather paid and had good food. Our server was very good. She went above and beyond to try to please us.

We stopped by for a quick dinner. The drinks weren’t amazing overall, but I do highly recommend the Valentine’s seasonal drink that was definitely the highlight. Unfortunately, the sampler appetizer wasn’t worth it. The mozzarella sticks were cold, though the dip was good. We both ordered steaks, and they were cold in the middle and did not taste good at all. It was really disappointing. We ended up boxing our food and leaving. Sadly, we won’t be back.

My husband and I are visiting family and stopped in to this location for a beer or two and an appetizer. It was 9:30 on a Saturday. We sat at the bar and were told that our legal and valid Ontario driver’s license was not acceptable id. When we asked why, as it has been taken at that location, as well as other locations, the bartender was rude and said it was corporate policy. We do not see this listed in corporate policies anywhere. We also know people who have sat at a table and had their id accepted. We said we would leave as we are not carrying our passports on us. We have never had our driver’s license refused as legal identification. The bartender then turned to other customers, talking about us, shrugging and saying oh well it doesn’t matter. Enjoyed our dinner at Applebee's. It's been years since we ate at one. I was hoping to see their low carb portion of the menu, but I did not. What I ordered basically was. Lime Fiesta Chicken, which I had garlicky green beans instead of the Spanish rice. Very tasty, zesty fish. A little heavy on the thousand Island dressing, which I didn't quite understand the combo with lime chicken It was good though. Husband had a good ol cheeseburger and fries, as these were some of the options on the 2 for $25 deal. We received a generous house salad and our 2 entrees for $25👍 Our waitress was super speedy and efficient. Very nice
