Applebee's Grill + Bar

The Applebee's in Hixson has such a great location with so much untapped potential, but unfortunately, the experience didn't quite live up to the surroundings. While the food was average and what you’d expect from the chain, the timing was a bit off as my meal arrived about 10 minutes before my drink ever made it to the table. My server was genuinely nice and friendly, but they seemed quite inattentive and I never received silverware or napkins with my food - which made it difficult to enjoy the meal. It’s a convenient spot, but it could really use more attention to the service basics to match the potential of the location.

I haven't been in a long time, since it was at Northgate, My grandson wanted to try the new cheese burger he loved it. You also had gluten free options for my other Grandson. Service was great Gary B. Was amazing.

My 2 party waited 10 minutes before anyone decided that they were going to acknowledge that we were there after walking by us several times. Then after being seated it was another 15 minutes before the manager was walking by and looked at us and asked has anyone taken our order. Then someone came and took our drink orders of a coke and a sweet tea with lemon (requested twice and never received it). Ten minutes later someone finally came and took our food orders and everything that we ordered they were out of it. We finally decided to just leave as we waited an additional 15 minutes and our food still hadn’t arrived. We will never go there again nor will we recommend anyone else to go there to eat!

The server was very good and brought me multiple refills of my soft drink. He also corrected the wrong side dish for my friend very quickly. It is obvious to me that the restaurant hires good workers and enough of them so that they can provide excellent service. The steak, blackened shrimp, and house salad were all tasty and well made, too.

My experience here was fine overall. I did receive my food with a hair in it initially and had to tell our server. She promptly had the kitchen remake it for me but didn’t really seem apologetic about it or offer some sort of discount or a complimentary anything. Most places often do that. Anyway, the food was okay, about as great as it gets for an Applebee’s.
