Shayna took good care of us and oh my gosh the food was so good. Wife and I got the chicken and dumplings with some mashed potatoes and cornbread stuffing. We were given some delicious fruit juice and apple fritters to start us off and let me say I haven't been so full in a long time. Can't wait to come back again! Oh, my wife adores the little bird cage at the front door, and after we ate we walked around near the creek and got some great pictures.

Applewood Barn is an absolute gem! The restaurant is styled like an old farmhouse — so romantic, cozy, and charmingly decorated. From the moment we arrived, the staff were friendly and welcoming. We had a 20-minute wait, which was perfectly reasonable. As a welcome, we were served warm apple fritters with apple sauce. Honestly, these were some of the best I’ve ever had in my life — they could easily have been a meal on their own! What I loved most is that you can choose three sides with every dish, and they are refillable endlessly. Even better, you can change your sides on your second round, so you can try almost everything. The portions are generous, the food was absolutely delicious, and the service was fantastic. Our server, dressed in a historical farmhouse-style outfit, explained eve

I saved this restaurant for the second to last day of my trip to the Smokies. I arrived at 11am after rushing to get there for breakfast hours. While I was anticipating having to just settle for lunch, the hostess actually gave me an option for a breakfast or lunch menu in which I obviously chose breakfast. This was such a relief and got them their first star. I was seated, reviewed the menu, couldn’t decide, so I ordered an omelette and chocolate chip pancakes. The food was incredible, portions too large to eat it all, but not from the lack of wanting too… The service was also too notch with drinks staying filled, yes, sweet tea and chocolate milk, and the waitress was very intentional to ensure I had a great visit. I’ll close this review out by saying, once I finally made it to my

This southern country–themed restaurant is an absolute gem. The menu is incredibly diverse, packed with all the classic Southern favorites you’d hope to find. I ordered the fried chicken, and it was perfect—crispy and crunchy on the outside with amazingly moist and tender meat on the inside. The staff were warm, friendly, and very attentive throughout the entire meal, which made the experience even better. The décor truly transports you; it feels like you’re sitting down for dinner in someone’s cozy farmhouse. Overall, a fantastic dining experience from start to finish. Highly recommend!

Super cute little Southern place. You get apple fritters with your meal, and they are delicious! You also get apple julep samples (I think is what they're called) - a mix of apple and orange juice. I got blackened catfish, and it was pretty awesome. I'm a Northerner, so I don't know how authentic Southern it was, but it seemed nice and authentic to me.
