Ordered three trays of mini baklava and a large tray of almond macaroons for an event. The service was outstanding. It was a great experience. Both the baklava and almond macaroons were fresh and outstanding. I am still getting compliments on how delicious they were. I would not hesitate to use for an event. Whenever I crave baklava or almond macaroons this is where I will head. Cannot wait to try some of the other delicious desserts. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
It was an absolute pleasure working with Chef Lika for our wedding! She completely captured my vision for an over-the-top cake just for my husband and me to cut. The chocolate ganache and raspberry compote cake was absolutely delicious! Lika also made giant chocolate chip cookies with sea salt for our dessert table. The cookies were a huge hit, and our guests couldn't stop talking about them all night. Everything was perfect, and I would highly recommend Chef Lika for any special occasion! The Baker had the worst attitude, and when I specifically asked if the reference photo of the cake would look exactly alike she promised me it would yet I got a lopsided cracked cake with a child’s handwriting on it and when I asked for a refund she wanted to show an attitude as to why I needed a refund and when I picked up the cake, I wasn’t even shown probably because she knew it was not a good cake. I don’t recommend this place
I like this bakery, though individual items have been hit or miss. The baklava was not great, and the almond (or that's what it was called, anyway?) biscotti tasted so much like licorice that it felt almost astringent in my mouth. The mousse cakes were good but very one-textured, even the tiramisu was basically all mousse and very little ladyfinger. The non-perishables are great, as well as the croissants I've gotten on weekends.
I feel like some of their pastries are hit or miss; the cannoli and Turkish delights are really good, but some of other others are unevenly flavored. For example, the dough will be bland compared to the filling which is very sweet. It's also quite expensive. They have a big selection though, so I'd still recommend the place. And their Easter bread is delicious! It's sweet and chewy.
