Avanti's Ristorante - N. Knoxville

We stopped in on a Tuesday night. The special on Tuesdays is all you can eat. They have multiple sauce options, our favorite was the meat sauce. It has a touch of sweetness. The bread is soooo warm and soft and is served before the meal with grass fed butter. We also ordered a gondola. (A sub, with meat, cheese, lettuce, and they brought out mayo which is optional) I personally like to dip the gondola in the meat sauce. I would definitely eat here again. A nice touch in my opinion is the hanging plants, they are real! A great atmosphere.

First time here as we passed through town. Salad was fresh and tasty, really enjoyed the house Italian dressing. My husband is vegetarian. We saw a cheese soup and assumed it would be okay as there was no note mentioning it but turned out to have bacon in it. Server was accommodating and did take it off our ticket. I got an Italian sausage beef deluxe. Menu stated it came with sauce or lettuce and tomato. When I asked the server for the lettuce and tomato she said it would be an upcharge so I chose not to. Food was alright. Service was good. Atmosphere was nice.

I come to this Avantis because I felt that this location would have that freshness, personal customer experience like the original Avantis on Main St that I used to love going to as a teen then taking my kids there. The experience was so friendly and personal. I am so disappointed this is the second time that I have had a bad experience with the food. My lasagna noodles are over cooked. The bread isn’t fresh. I really had my mouth set for lunch. 👎🏽

The place definitely has an old school vibe which isn’t necessarily bad, but the food is pretty subpar quality. THAT BEING SAID we did just get a chicken strip basket ($12ish) and a meatball sub ($10ish). The highlight is the bread basket. It’s very sweet! The wait staff was also very kind and attentive.

Stopped in for a basic full-size gondola sandwich—nothing complicated. There were no customers ahead of me and four people working in the kitchen, yet it somehow took 25 minutes to get my order. The place wasn’t busy at all, so there’s really no excuse for that kind of wait time on a cold meat sandwich. By the time it came out, any appetite I had was gone. Definitely not worth the stop.
