Azalea Inn & Time Out Sports Bar

My friend tells me this is the best pizza in all of Tidewater! So I finally got to try it and can honestly say they do make a good pizza pie. This isn't a secret. In the time we were enjoying our lunch 6 other parties came in and had pizzas brought to their tables as well. The outdoor seating area was inviting (but it was a bit breezy so we ate inside). The interior decor is traditional bar material with lots of wood grain and mirrors. There was plenty of seating and the appetizers were big enough for 4 people to share.

Large dining area if you have a large party to accommodate. Game room for kids. Menu is too large and seems most of it comes from can. I ordered meatloaf and the green beans were literally poured directly from the can, not warmed or seasoned at all. Meatloaf was average and a small portion compared to some of the other items that had huge portions. My daughter got spaghetti marinara with sauce that looked like it had canned sauce and it was 18.95 with no meatballs or anything. Server was really nice tho. Really dated dining room, you can tell it hasn't been updated in a couple decades at the least.

My brother is a coach asked his wife where we could take him. She told me how much he loved azalea inn. We went there and we enjoyed the food the service and the atmosphere. It was my first time there. The pizza was hot fresh and delicious.

The pizza is top shelf. The pork tenderloin, and lasagna are also great. The bar and restaurant are connected but far enough away that the cheers from what ever sporting event don't interfere with a relaxing meal.

I have been craving a pastrami sandwich and finally a restaurant that has it on their menu. It was everything I had hoped for and more. The service was also the best I have received in a long time. Kudos to this restaurant for hiring and training their servers to be friendly and attentive. We will definitely be coming back. The tiramasu was yummy and so was the baklava. Although the baklava was heated a touch too long which made it chewy. Still tasty though.
