Very authentic ramen shop! I didn’t think a ramen shop could beat Menya for me..but Baikohken was the spot to do it for me. The Butter corn miso had to be hands down the best ramen I’ve had EVER! It complimented the cold, rainy, New Year’s Eve perfectly! Comforting, delicious, and the servers were extremely sweet and helpful. I loved the place so much I even bought a t-shirt. Incredible, and I will be back over and over again whenever the craving hits. Thank you!
Delicious ramen. We got their signature and it was so tasty and the noodles were cooked perfectly. We also had their croquettes and karage which were also very tasty. Deifntiely want to come back to try their other broths.
@baikohken_usa in San Diego got a super cozy vibe that’s perfect for a chill night out or a catch-up with friends. It’s famous for its variety of broths - we’re talkin’ shio , creamy miso and refreshing shoyu, to name a few. And let’s not forget the food! Their crispy chicken karaage is a game-changer, with that perfect crunch giving way to juicy, flavorful chicken. But hold up, the sides are where it really shines - their croquette, takoyaki is a must-try, and those fries are straight fire! 😋 You gotta try ‘em.
Came here with my coworkers for a birthday lunch and had a pretty mixed experience. The highlight was easily the chicken karaage -- crispy, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. Honestly, some of the best I've had anywhere. Unfortunately, the ramen didn't quite live up to expectations. The noodles themselves were spot on -- great texture with that classic firm bite -- but the broth was underwhelming and, surprisingly, not served hot enough. For a place with this reputation, that was disappointing. Service, though, was excellent and very much in line with the polite attentiveness you'd expect from a Japanese spot. Still, if you're after standout ramen in San Diego, I'd recommend Kitakata, Santouka, or even Tajima (yes, they're good again!).
This was the best ramen I've had in a while! We went on a cooler day recently and it really hit the spot. We were also amazed with the decor of the resturant and were very happy we stumbled upon this place. We'll definitely be back!
