Bakery La Mejor

Well, I’ve been going to this bakery for a long time. I’m from Bay Area as well and every time I go I feel warmth the loving like a family and pastries always Delicious and always fresh good coffee too.The employees are very friendly and I like that, the owner Alicia Martinez very polite friendly makes you feel at home so I definitely recommend BAKERY LA MEJOR for people to go get there pan dulce. People can have this delicious pastries, anytime of the day any month especially for holidays, Christmas Thanksgiving, etc.. It’s the best I’ve tasted.

Absolutely loved the cake that I ordered! My colleague loves the strawberry tres leches and the conchas from this place so I ordered a tres leches cake for her bday. I thought the tres leches was good so decided to ask if they could make a dulce de leche cake for another bday party. I described the cake and they told me they could make one for me. I was so excited because this is a cake that I had a lot in my childhood and have not seen it been sold at any bakery. It was absolutely wonderful! They use "cajeta" which is very similar to the dulce de leche. The cake was freshly made in the morning so it was moist, the sweetness was balanced; it was exactly what I was looking for! Went this morning Tuesday around 9am it wasn’t busy at all. Plenty of parking. It smelled great. Lots of options. Most items $2.50 each. I got a few different things: concha’s, cookies and corner sponge cake. The corner sponge cake I am sure that’s not its actual name but that’s my to go Mexican bakery item. It’s was delicious. The perfect combination of sweetness and freshness. Not dry at all spongee and hits the sugar craving needs without over powered sweetness. Will come back. Only reason I’d not give it a 5 star was person who helped me out was very serious and not welcoming at all. They make delicious baked goods. Check it out. Maybe next time I go I’ll get a smile.

I use to like it cus their best bread is concha at 6 am but I been here 6:51 6:30 and they not ready 😭 so I go empty handed, most of the breads taste like egg a lot
