Not only are all the bartenders amazing to interact with, but all of the regular guests are incredibly friendly! This is a great, casual hang-out place that makes you feel right at home. I would dare to say this is definitely one of the top breweries in the area, for sure. Their selection of what’s on-tap and the cocktail menu they offer is top-notch. We’ve interacted with Tom the most and he’s been lovely every single time!

21 August 2025 My husband and I went to Banter for the first time to meet some friends. He had to work late so we were late in arriving and had just missed them. While some of them had gone to a second bar, we decided to stay for a beer anyway and are so glad we did! We were warmly welcomed by Tom the owner as well as some regulars sitting at the bar! Tom offered us several samples, told us about the brews, later answer questions about their mug club, and invited us to come back on a Monday when lots of regulars would be there to talk to! The bar is small and therefore even a little loud but it's incredibly warm and welcoming! I loved every sample we had including the Bannas Foster - if beer was a dessert, that would be it! It was so unique, but my favorite was definitely the Hefeweizen

One of the best hidden gems around. Banter Brewing Co. absolutely nails it — from the quality of the beer to the vibe of the space, everything is dialed in. You can tell the team here takes pride in what they do. The taps rotate just enough to keep things fresh, but the staples are solid every time. Great balance of creativity and quality. Staff are welcoming, knowledgeable, and make the experience even better. Whether you’re a craft beer nerd or just looking for a chill spot to hang out, this place hits the mark. Clean pours, relaxed atmosphere, and zero pretentiousness. Highly recommend grabbing a flight and staying for a couple more — you’ll be glad you did.

Beer is forgettable at best. If you like it enjoy it while you can. I’d be shocked to see this place stay open for another 2 years. Won’t be a loss when they go out of business! Since it won’t let me respond directly, here’s an edit. I’ve had your beer on three separate occasions over the past 3 years and I can get better tasting beer from Aldi. I’ve only been in once, but the atmosphere was just boring, cheap and downright lazy. I’m sorry you think your beer is good and that you’re operating successfully. You can dislike what I say, just like I can dislike your beer. I’ll come by when you go out of business to help celebrate! I’ve hated Tom for WAY longer than I’ve hated your beer.

Small business brewery with big time taste!!! Sampled several brews with the $12 Banter Flight Card. Each beer was on point for its style of beer. I especially enjoyed the Iron Gospel IPA. Definitely recommend trying next time you’re in the Springfield Missouri area.
