Barrel 21 Distillery and Dining

Such a nice mood restaurant! The staffs are very kind with good manners! They have somewhere limited options for lunch, so I prefer to visit here for dinner. Especially, I really enjoyed when there were special menus that may be seasonal. One of the best part is you can reserve. They have good cocktail/mocktail options.

B21 might be the only place I’d go in state college to get a ribeye steak instead of cooking my own. Had ANOTHER great steak with a good old fashioned. The salmon was also great. Every time I go here I think, why don’t I go more often? I think the only time I’ve been disappointed is when I ordered a limited time item that wasn’t there when I went back! They never miss.

Sharing our experience, ours is less then memorable. We were told that at 3:30pm with an entire resturant VACANT that they were not able to accommodate our party of 10. Literally entire rooms that were empty. That's ok your family friendly neighbor was able to creatively accommodate our party at OTTOs (must visit) we came back 2hours later to the same EMPTY resturant who could of had our business, but turning away 3 families with kids was there priority as they all stood around doing nothing but waiting for supposed reservations that never showed. NOT family friendly or very unaccommodating. Welcome to the hospitality industry thinking creatively on your feet and turning tables is how you keep your lights on. Do not recommend.

Stopped in for a bite to eat before heading to Beaver Stadium for a concert. Online reservations said "come on it, there is currently no wait". Got there and there was an hour wait. Ended up waiting 20 minutes then sitting in the bar area, 40 minutes later they called saying my table was ready! I ordered the Cherry Apple Cider, which was good (and cheap - only $4). Hubs and I both ordered the Barrel Burger (ribeye cheeseburger with brown sugar balsamic onions, and bacon). I honestly don't remember the bacon being on my burger but I'm sure it was there. The burger was super dry and lacked flavor. I also got a side of truffle fries for $1 upgrade - they were good and worth the extra $1 The food was dropped off by what seemed to be a manager, who was nice - hubs was suppose to get French f

We sat at the bar and had a few drinks and entrees. Steaks and salmon were cooked perfectly and had nice flavor. We ate them so fast we didn’t get a picture! Kudos to the chef. Bartender Lexi was super attentive and very friendly, she makes a mean martini. Definitely will be back!
