Basso on the Plaza at Westport

My husband and I tried this restaurant with friends for the first time. The wait wasn’t long for a table of 4 at around 9 pm. What others said about the noise level is somewhat true; In our experience, there was just one booth in front of us where the patrons were loud, but we could still talk and hear (more so when they left). Service/hospitality wise: Our server was very polite and knowledgeable in explaining the menu options to us, and she/the restaurant chefs were very accommodating with altering the meat for the dishes since all of us do not eat pork or shellfish. My husband and I ordered the bread with dipping oil, Caesar salad, bucatini with chicken sausage, lemon ricotta ravioli with no pancetta and chicken sausage added, a magherita pizza, a Chicken & Garlic pizza, and lastly for

great experience!! Joe our waiter was great, making sure we knew we had 6 more minutes of happy hour to order quick haha. We got the lemon hummus with warm bread (called something prettier) happy hour app and the brussels (so so so good). Then for the meal my husband got the pasta with notes of dark chocolate and orange zest 👀👀 and I got the burger. All of it was so good. I wouldn't be surprised if everything on the menu was impressive because everything we ordered was. especially recommend the fries and the two apps we got!! will be going back

Fantastic lunch spot! We stopped in for the half salad, half sandwich lunch deal. It’s a great value with plenty of food. The salad was crisp and delicious, topped with creamy Caesar dressing. The salami and prosciutto sandwich was toasty and satisfying. The service was fantastic too!

We had a great experience at Basso on the Plaza! Appetizers, entrees, desserts, and cocktails were top notch. Great atmosphere and good service overall. Looking forward to going back and trying more of the menu. Highly recommended this establishment.

Husband and I had date night here and it did not disappoint!! It was my turn to plan and after browsing multiple restaurants on line, Basso on the Plaza stood out to me. Not only the reviews but because it's in a familiar location and one that while we waited on the "wait list" we were able to hangout for a while at a local bar, have a drink, listen to some live music and then head over once notified our table was ready!! Our server was great and made some great suggestions too. Can honestly say, we didn't even have to add salt or pepper because both our dishes were perfectly seasoned! We had the delicious truffle fries for an appetizer, he had the lemon ricotta ravioli (delicious!!) and I had the amazing ricotta gnocchi!! Topped it off with the pistachio gelato & espresso! Sooo yummy!! W
