Bear Creek Motel & Cabins

Other than the place being a little off the beaten path (both positive and negatives), what a cool place! These cabins are located in Pinos Altos, about seven miles north of Silver City and on the highway to Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument. We were in Cabin 4, which was attached to Cabin 5, which was not vacant during our stay. There were around 15 cabins with am office/gift shop. Staff at registration (Sonya was wonderful!) were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. There were a lot of souvenirs available as well as some candy and refreshments. Our cabin had a parking spot close by and a short walkway to the front door. A grill was outside as well as a deck with a couple chairs and a picnic table. This is such a pretty location and has so much potential but the people who run it were not honest. |The cabin was nice, overall. Cabin C felt like you were in a tree house and I liked the layout. I’d say definitely do not stay here with toddlers or young kids due to the way the stairs are, as they could hurt themselves (there’s a permanent table at the top of stairs that they could topple off and gaps between stairs.)|The atmosphere is scenic and peaceful. I wouldn’t stay there again not because of the cabin but because of the people running it. Comfy, cozy, clean, quiet & peaceful! Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Love this little gem of a place. We enjoyed our peaceful stay with our sweet dog. Every cabin is pet friendly! Not too often you find a nice quiet serene place that is so pet friendly. We will definitely be a repeat customer.

Amazing, just tucked away enough it's beautiful, but not hard to get to. Cabin was amazing, loves the loft and fireplace. Definitely returning.

Stayed a night here in late August 2025 and the staff was great. Made a last minute reservation to do some birding in a great area and the location is PERFECT fort that. I was arriving late after the office closed, and staff made sure I was able to get to my cabin easily. The cabin was perfectly clean, and comfortable. I got up and birded the property early which was great. I left early and they made that easy as well with a key drop. Will definitely book this place in the future for a longer stay.
