Benjamin Porter House

Such a beautiful B&B! Kathy was so friendly and welcoming. We stayed in Lia's room which was spacious, with comfortable beds. So close to the town, but quiet and peaceful. The grounds are just gorgeous. Absolutely loved our weekend in Skaneateles, and will definitely stay at the Benjamin Porter House next time we visit.

This B&B is steps away from all of what Skaneateles has to offer. My wife and I stayed here overnight because we were attending a musical in Aubrun at the Merry-go-round playhouse (15 minutes away).||We roomed in the Master Suite on the second floor which was nicely appointed with a relaxing chaise longue, a large shower and jacuzzi tub and an extremely comfortable four poster king bed. We loved all the antiques, homey touches and artwork decorating the rooms and stairway. ||Breakfast was delicious and Kathy was a wonderful host. Since we were alone, we got the chance to eat breakfast outside by the garden and it was magnificent. Their dog is the sweetest golden retriever you've ever met.||Skaneateles is a very expensive town to stay in, and this B&B offered very good relative value in a l

Kathy is the best hostess (and a very talented artist). Amazing house with beautiful grounds. No expense was spared on the bed linens. Best sleep ever! Location is less than a block to everything. I hope we can always stay here when we visit!

We spent one night at the Benjamin Porter House and were sorry to leave! Kathy is a wonderful hostess and very obliging; she went out of her way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Our room was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. There was even a vase of fresh lilac on the bedside table. Breakfast was lovely: a plate of mixed berries with optional heavy cream, followed by a cheese omelette and fruit bread toast with homemade jam, juice and great coffee. The wonderful 1850s house is full of antiques and breakfast is served on antique china. Skaneateles itself is a beautiful town and well worth a visit!

We've stayed at the Benjamin Porter House during visits to the Finger Lakes region of NY State, and always have a wonderful relaxing stay. Our most recent trip was just marvelous. The house is both elegant and charming, with stately rooms and beautifully landscaped grounds just a block from downtown Skaneateles. it's a perfect place to have a leisurely morning or evening, as well as a great launching point for the area. The hostess, Kathy, always makes us feel welcome. We hope to visit again soon.
