Big John's Grill

Some of the best ox tails I've had, & I've had a lot. This is the "hole in the wall" type place that I love. Friendly service & excellent food. Oxtails are on Tuesdays only as far as I know. Looking forward to trying some of the other menue items, fried fish, chicken, pork chops, etc.

Me and my husband visited Big John’s Grill today for the first time and we were highly impressed. Upon entering the restaurant which most people would refer to as a “hole in the wall”, the restaurant was clean, had a nice smell and had adequate sitting. This made us very happy as several Beaumont restaurants we have been in have a sewer odor which immediately kills my appetite. To make things even more pleasant was when we saw the A95 rating from the health department. The manager Beatrice was quite helpful in pointing out today’s special which was fried chicken/fried pork chops with cornbread, yams, black-eyed peas, rice and gravy, and cabbage. Hidden treasure in Beaumont. Some of the best fried chicken I have ever tasted. Tasty side dishes and good prices make this place a "You've gotta try them" restaurant. There's a Soul Food vibe here and you can taste the love that goes into the food here.

Fast service, good food, and good hospitality. We went on Tuesday for the oxtail special....with tax ~$25. We will stop again on our way from/to the casino
