Went here on a Sunday morning to relax a little. Got a delicious muffin and iced match latte. Both delicious and obvious that quality ingredients used. The couple who own the shop were super friendly and pleasant. They were very courteous and passionate discussing their menu. Very welcoming environment and detailed Vietnamese decor. Also had soccer on TV. They have a huge butchers window if you like to people watch with your coffee. Friendly-neighbourhood vibe. I will definitely be back. Update February 20th: I've come back to this spot several times already. Had an excellent cold brew coffee a couple of days ago. 4.5 stars. This new coffee shop has been open for a couple of weeks now in the space that used to be Café Sparrow. And it’s such a nice addition to the neighborhood. It’s a cozy space but the layout is smart — they still managed to fit a few small tables and some bar seating without it feeling crowded. Their menu not only has premium coffee and teas but also some light bites such as homemade pho, fresh sandwiches, pizza bites and pastries. I love the mix of Vietnamese and Italian flavors. They already have Vietnames Iced Coffee and meatball subs and soon will also offer Banh Mi and summer rolls. I ordered a large Iced Matcha latte ($8) which was very refreshing and light. I went in yesterday bc I noticed this Beanery opened up, and it was absolutely amazing. The people in there were great. Mallory behind the counter made me a delicious Vietnamese espresso and tom behind the counter was talking as if I knew him for years. The two were a great pair, and I couldn’t believe how delicious the coffee was. They are also have small eats. My husband ordered a pizza bite and it was out of this world. Will definitely go back and sit next time.

Stopped by BirchBuilt Beanery in Astoria and ordered an iced Rocket Fuel with oat milk and it did not disappoint. The coffee was refreshing, smooth, and naturally sweet without needing to add any extra sugar. At $7.50, it felt very fairly priced for the quality. The shop itself is newly opened and on the smaller side, but it’s incredibly comforting. The wood-styled counter and natural sunlight pouring in through the front windows give it a warm, inviting vibe. The owners were especially welcoming, which made a big difference. I usually grab my coffee and go, but ended up staying to enjoy it at the counter. They even had a soccer game on, which sparked some great conversation before the place started to get busy. The owners are amazing, coffee is on point and love the Italian/Vietnamese mix from coffee to food. Definitely try the Vietnamese coffee, 10/10. If you're in the area, it's a must try spot. If you're not in the area, start planning your trip. They have room to work and great wifi
