For context, I live in the south and have dined in the gulf coast US The ambiance is quaint and intimate without taking itself too seriously which I enjoyed. The menu is a prefixe or chefs selection which was also was a welcome to explore a lot of the items on the menu. Portions were pretty significant for two and will leave you feeling plenty full. I had the hush puppies, Campanella, gnocchi, steak, and fried chicken. All were very good - the rock stars were the fried chicken and Campanelle. Both absolute 10/10 fantastic. The hush puppies were nice and crisp but a bit bland and dry, and the gnocchi was also a bit bland. The steak was very tender, fire grilled, and nicely seasoned, but not sure it was worth the $30 markup over other entrees. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, tho

A definite 10/10 West Village restaurant. Bird Dog was the perfect double date night spot and everyone in our party opted for the 3 course meal. The table was unanimous in our opinion of the food: every single dish was perfect; the cook on the pasta, the seasonings, the portions, the plating, everything. The decor was hilarious and adorable - Puppy renaissance. The service was top tier and our server has charisma fitting for the acting industry. The atmosphere was balanced and cozy. The food was so good I forgot to get a good picture of everything before going in! Food highlights: hush puppies, collard greens w/peanut dressing, baby back ribs, ravioli, fried chicken.

Wow the fried chicken saved my life for sure. This was a great experience. Our waitress was so helpful in deciding our entrees and pairing a wine with them as well. We got the fried chicken which is an absolute must. Okay I lied we got TWO fried chickens. We also got their hush puppies (honey butter was divine) burrata and the pimento cheese. All fantastic choices! I will say we enjoyed the pasta but it was a tiny earthy for my taste. However the vibes made up for it all. Perfect cozy meal with good friends!

Visited here with my 2 gfs and had an incredible time! We came during pasta happy hour and shared the pimento cheese, tagliatelle, the bolognese, and the fried chicken. It was the perfect order and everything was SO GOOD! Antonie was such a fun server and gave great recommendations. 10/10 would recommend!

Was very pleasantly surprised by this place! Not that I was expecting it to be bad, but we came for the pasta happy hour (50% off, 4-6, walk-in only) for a quick dinner before gallery hopping and it definitely exceeded expectations. We shared the orecchiette and tagliatelle and both were delicious - the orecchiette had a generous serving of lamb and the tagliatelle was mixed tableside and super decadent. Each had its own subtle twist of flavor with the mint in the orecchiette and the citrus in the tagliatelle. With the happy hour, it came out to $19 before tip, which was a great deal. Also want to mention that the (I believe) owner is very kind, and the restaurant itself is so cute and homey with all the on-theme dog photos and moody romantic lighting. We came a little after 5pm and were
