Went to this place about 12 years ago, and it was mediocre. Just visited again this morning. Things change, Black Bear is a small restaurant chain out of California. The restaurant is large with tables and booths and can handle large parties. Kid friendly and Vegan choices on the menu. They have TVs and a full bar, along with bear themes all thru the place. Breakfast is served all day. I opted for the Chicken Fried Steak with scrambled eggs, side of hashbrowns and toast. The steak was coated and seasoned well, the gravy was decent. Scrambled eggs were a little browned, but not too bad. I wasn't asked how I wanted them cooked. Hash browns were crispy but moist. Everything on the plate was hot, which means freshly cooked. It did take some time to wait on the food, but it was fairly busy a
Had a fantastic experience with our school band. The staff was very accommodating, efficient, and friendly the whole time even with our large group. Would gladly go back again and recommend!
This place is amazing. My server, Brea, is amazing. My friend and I went there for the first time three weeks ago and we went just two days ago again and landed on her table. From now on every time we go back, we will ask for her. Definitely in place worth checking out. Very relaxed atmosphere with a homestyle cooking.
I recently dined at Black Bear Diner in Boise, and it was quite the experience! The freshly squeezed orange juice was absolutely amazing—definitely a must-try. The biscuits and gravy were good but somewhat average, lacking that special touch I was hoping for. However, the pancakes were a real highlight! They were incredibly fluffy and flaky, making them a delightful addition to the meal. And I have to say, the homemade sausage patties were a hit! They had a fantastic flavor that complemented the rest of the meal perfectly. Overall, Black Bear Diner is a great spot for a hearty breakfast. I definitely recommend trying the orange juice, pancakes, and sausage patties if you get the chance!
I came here with my family. It was a great experience. We got seated pretty quickly and the sever was timely and kind. She was patient as we order for our grandparents. She checked in on our table and made sure the coffee mugs were full. The food was really good, and portions were great. The bacon was cooked to a crisp, the eggs were cooked well, and the French toast was great. The syrup was great and wasn't too sticky. I will definitely be coming here again.
