We went Saturday around 9am before it got crowded and had a great experience. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I loved learning about the history of how Black Bear Diner originated—it adds such a nice touch to the atmosphere. The bear print on the waffle was so cute! It was also great to see how they support the Make-A-Wish Foundation. We’ll definitely be back.
There of course was a table wait (only 12 minutes) cuz we came in on Sunday. Our server was professional and friendly and brought coffee quickly. The restaurant was busy but not loud. Unfortunately our food took over a half hour, and while it looked good, my Shasta veggie scramble was only lukewarm, as were the loaded grits. Hubby's pancakes were hot though. I declined the offer to ‘heat up’ my breakfast and our server then took my brekkie off the bill so there is that. We will probably not come back.
Brandi was a wonderful waitress! Friendly and warm and had our orders in ASAP because we have young impatient kiddos. My husband and I shared the Joe Hobo’s Omelette and it was delicious! It was more than enough to share and was full of meat, cheese and veggies. The hashbrowns were crispy and we added a side of bacon. My kids loved the sprinkle pancakes and ate all three. We loved our coffee - she made us a fresh pot and kept our cups full our entire meal. Much prefer this place to Cracker Barrel or Denny’s. It’s inviting, clean and the food portions are humongous - similar to Kelley’s.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Black Bear Diner – Exceptional Service & Kindness Beyond Expectations Today was our first visit to Black Bear Diner, and it turned into one of the most touching dining experiences we’ve ever had. My daughter has severe and complex food allergies, and after briefly skimming the kids’ menu, it didn’t look like she would be able to eat anything safely. We had already ordered drinks when I told our waitress, Brandi C., that we would need to leave. Instead of simply wishing us well, Brandi immediately reassured us and refused to charge for the drink. She then went above and beyond—she offered to speak to a coworker who has similar allergies and took the time to fully understand my daughter’s restrictions. She was warm, patient, and truly cared. Within minutes, Brandi returned wit
Never had a bad experience here. Food is always good. Place is clean and nice and the servers are great! I got a salad this time and it was HUGE
