I went at 4:30pm on a Wednesday, and had the whole place to myself! They offer a happy hour during that time too, which is great. The sushi I got was sooo good, the avocado was perfectly ripe. The staff was very friendly and attentive too! The chestnut bomb desert was fantastic!! Well worth the stop to dine, or to order pick up.
Bleu Sushi might be one of my favorite cozy sushi restaurants now in Philly. Me and my boyfriend came here at night and when we first walked in it was very beautiful — the ambiance was so nice and the waiters were very attentive. Our starters was the torched white tuna with crispy garlic and we also got the shrimp & veggie appetizer. For the white tuna I would say that dish itself wasn’t worth it. It really just tasted like a balsamic glaze on tuna. It wasn’t an “Japanese” flavor — the dish itself felt/tasted more American. (Something you would put on a salad). Nonetheless it was decent. The tempura app was actually very good. The portion is nice and we were almost full before even ordering our mains! We got the Orange Lover & Sushi Bleu — both were very good and tasted fresh we saw the c
The sushi was good, but the entrees were just ordinary. The place is nice and dimly lighted. The food is a bit too pricey for me. If it’s not because of the groupon promotion, I would not give it a try.
It’s pretty dark in there which I didn’t love because then I can’t tell if it’s clean. The miso soup was good. The service was excellent. The sushi was just ok. I don’t think it’s worth the price. Salmon Roe, fishy. Toro, pretty plain, no depth of flavor on that one. The Wagyu nigiri was delicious. Sweet shrimp was also pretty plain. Salmon wasabi oil was delicious, and the toasted white tuna garlic was good. Hakaido scallop, ok but plain. All in all it was half and half. Some item were just not fresh enough to deserve the price, and some were just super plain tasting which is just fine but not something you expect to pay that price for considering the number of sushi spots there are to choose from. Sushi Bleu, also not worth its price tag. At the end we asked what the chestnut bomb is, wa
Wow, I was pleasantly surprised. The quality of the fish was amazing. The menu did seem overwhelming from all the specials and the lack of a physical menu but everything we got was paired perfectly, all the tastes and flavors blended together beautifully. Our waiter was friendly and gave us great recommendations. I will definitely be back! The ambiance was perfect for a date night.
