This is a coffee chain I’ve seen in New York City as well. It’s not as massive as Starbucks, but for a chain, it’s actually quite good. I’m generally not a big fan of chains, yet this one has become a recent favorite. The Palo Alto location is especially impressive , spacious, airy, and beautifully designed, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I visited on a weekend evening. It was busy and lively, with people networking, working, and just hanging out, but I was still able to grab a table without much trouble. I ordered an iced mocha, and it was terrific. I’m very particular about mochas, but this one was perfectly balanced , mildly sweet, smooth, and made with whole milk. I also tried a small baked treat that was somewhere between a cookie and a slice of cake ; almost like a cara
This Blue Bottle coffee shop is in an old movie theater, which was previously also a bookstore and then a co-working space. The decor features restored architectural details from the old movie theater mixed with modern minimalism. The seating is often taken by people who stare intently at their laptops. The coffee is good. The baked goods could be fresher.
Blue bottle is your classic bay area coffee go to But who would’ve thought that a old theater could be converted into a vibey coffee house Overall a great venue area with cool people and cool service Coffee is amazing as usual but the lines can get pretty long so just be ready for that Definitely recommend for chatting, nice coffee date, or studying/working
I always loved blue bottle in NYC so when I saw one on my visit to Palo Alto I just had to stop by. I had a cappuccino and a cold brew which were both 10/10. I still think about how great the cappuccino was and I highly recommend it. I miss it so much I even bought blue bottle Nespresso pods (lol). This location is great because the outside is very spacious and has a fountain so it’s very nice to enjoy the coffee or treat you get. The inside is also great because it’s a large space as well.
If you want a place to sit and work and prep for that VC pitch, this is a nice spot with the vibes of all that have previously treaded the path you want to be on. Tech hustlers routinely hangout at this spot in a beautiful Spanish-style old school build with low ceilings and cavernous interiors. This used to be a Borders bookstore with plenty of nooks and a nice veranda with places to sit and work and have a leisurely conversation. The coffee is fresh brewed every cup and it is super rich in flavor, served by pleasant staff clearly sourced from the nearby Stanford.
