I ordered Bonchon on Sunday after work for a work meeting because everyone was curious to try Korean fried chicken, and this location was close to us. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed. The soy garlic wings were extremely salty. It honestly just tasted like straight soy sauce. I barely tasted any garlic at all. It felt like the chicken was just soaked in soy sauce and salt rather than being a balanced soy garlic flavor. The spicy wings were also disappointing. They barely had any sauce on them and honestly tasted like plain fried chicken. There was almost no spice at all — definitely not what you’d expect when ordering spicy wings. Overall, I regret spending money here and won’t be coming back.
Soy garlic chicken is delicious and my personal favorite. I have not been back here for years and the place needs some updating now but remains clean. The service is ok but seems understaffed hence our order took a little longer to be served.
Bonchon is a hidden gem. Right on a busy corner of town, in a nondescript shopping center. This is part of a national chain. A decent sized menu with traditional Korean flavors. I came specifically for the fried chicken. I was right. It was very good. They serve several different types of Korean fried chicken. I chose the traditional plain fried chicken and soy garlic fried chicken. Both were excellent. The pieces were big n plump. The crisp held up even after waiting an hour to try it after getting it home. Even reheating it the next day, it was still fabulous. I got two sides, coleslaw, which was decent regular style coleslaw. The second was edamame, which my granddaughter loved. The interior is still feeling the after effects of covid, and under utilized dining room with sparse dec
First time guest & went with (10) strips, seasoned with Korean BBQ & Yangnyeom sauces, with sides of coleslaw, kimchi & seasoned fries. Strips are just that, thin pieces of meat versus more common tenders. As such, the ratio of meat to coating is a bit different. While server (Lauren) was exceptional, the strips, fries & then kimchi each came out separately versus all at once. Not sure if location is undergoing a renovation, but size of dining area is much smaller than you would think from outward appearance of building.
We just discovered this place and tried it for the 1st time today. We ordered the Seoul Sampler and it was amazing! We will be back to try more food.
