I’ve been to Bora a few times now, and it’s honestly just fine. I recently went for drinks and apps with friends mainly to see their beautiful Christmas decorations. The restaurant is very festive, and they clearly put a lot of effort into the decor. We really enjoyed our drinks. We tried a few seasonal options along with their espresso martini, which was especially good. All of the drinks were solid, and the bartender was very nice and attentive. We ordered several appetizers: calamari, popcorn chicken (a special), avocado fries, and Brussels sprouts. The apps were very hit or miss. The Brussels sprouts and avocado fries were great. They were cooked perfectly with lots of flavor. The calamari, however, was basic and pretty flavorless, plus a bit rubbery. The popcorn chicken tasted like
I was in Brookfield purchasing a car. The sales associate and I were discussing our favorite burger places and, not having eaten yet, I asked for a recommendation. He wholeheartedly recommended Bora Restaurant. I followed his advice and was not disappointed! Do not judge the book by its cover. It looks plain and unassuming on the outside and took me a few seconds to spot it. (No pic, as I was distracted by my new car!) The inside was nicely appointed. Perhaps too many fake flowers, but maybe not. They seemed to work and add color. I went at 4 pm on a Saturday, so between lunch and dinner. There were people, but no crowds or noise. All I wanted was a good burger. And I got it! I ordered the House Burger: (6 oz?) Marbled Wagyu Beef, Cheddar Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Bacon, Red
We went last night and the service was outstanding, shout out to Hana (not sure of spelling) the hostess she was fantastic…it was extremely busy with some wait time even with reservations but she continually checked in with us and they even gave us a free round of drinks! We were happy to see the staff was just as great as the decor. I think our waiter’s name was Pavel (table 4) and he was great too! As was the food. We liked that it did not feel like you were sitting on top of one another/squeezed in like some other restaurants do so even with the very busy friday night around the holidays it still felt intimate & cozy. Highly recommend!
My initial impression was "wow it is very loud". However it was decorated with holiday decor that was fun and festive. Waited 15 minutes for a reservation placed 2 weeks ago. Our waiter seemed overwhelmed and was struggling with other tables as well. We ordered an app along with our main dinning experience. A cocktail while we waited, again very loud so it was difficult to talk. Our main meal came out and we had to remind the waiter that the app had not come out. The food presentation was good but frankly was complacent. Not anything that I would rave about. I would come back if I was asked out to meet friends but not somewhere I would go back intentionally. For a location that appears high end I would have expected more.
First time coming here from Washington DC on Thanksgiving day and the atmosphere is very cozy, and their seasonal menu has a great selection. We got the turkey meatball with orange cranberry sauce, and they were the most tender meatballs we’ve had. Our bartender Dion was first class. Very interactive and kind. The apple pie old fashion was great, and my wife got the pumpkin spice espresso martini which was full of flavor. Looking forward to coming back.
