Stopped by Boss Hog’s Chicken & BBQ in Washington, NC and it did NOT disappoint. The pulled BBQ was tender, smoky, and packed with flavor, you can tell it’s done right and not rushed. The green beans and cabbage tasted homemade, seasoned perfectly with that true Southern style. Everything had that “Sunday after church” comfort food vibe. And don’t skip dessert. The pie was the perfect finish! RIch, layered, and topped with whipped cream. Absolute win. If you’re looking for legit Southern BBQ with classic sides done the right way, this spot delivers. We’ll definitely be back.
Friendly staff, great food and fixings. Banging Iced tea. Reasonable priced. I will be back to try some more.
My favorite place for chicken and pastry. Last couple of times too salty to eat. Hush puppies are the best anywhere! Staff always friendly and helpful. Now just cut the salt back a little, please.
A friend of mine took me here for Christmas it was terrific. I prefer the 'Eastern North Carolina' barbaque sauce which is vinegar not tomato based and Boss Hogg's delivers. The in store display (think Panda Express) shows you exactly what you'll get. Every meal comes with hush puppies and I also got baked beans and some kind of potatoes. The baked beans had peaches in it and were delicious (after I picked out the peaches! I am a Yankee after all) The potatoes were good but I don't eat very much at 1 time so I concentrated on the BBQ pork. The picture of my plate was taken AFTER I completely stuffed myself! For me it was enough for 3 meals. My friend got a fried pork chop that was excellent. The staff was super friendly (I am glad to live in the south again). It's moderately priced. The c
In town for the night and was craving some Eastern N Carolina bbq, so we decided to try Boss Hog’s, disappointing. Walked in and all the bbq, ribs, chicken and sides were all on display in the glass warmer for you to choose. We both got bbq and ribs with a couple sides with a drink, $30.00!! Ribs were tough, not tender at all, bbq had decent flavor but nothing close to the Eastern NC style I was hoping for. More like reheated gas station bbq, collard greens and baked beans were ok, nothing to get excited about. Overall the only thing missing were gas pumps out front, beer cooler and scratch off tickets.
