Bourke Shire Farm Bed & Breakfast

We stayed in the Bourke Shire for 2 nights this past weekend to celebrate my birthday. The B&B was absolutely lovely, as were Kara and Bob, the owners. They were friendly and helpful with directions, as well as suggesting places for us to eat and pointing out cool places to explore. We were in the area to go whitewater rafting and zip lining but we also checked out the quaint town of Shelburne Falls, the Bridge of Flowers and the wonderful Blue Rock Restaurant, thanks to Kara and Bob. The accommodations at the Bourke Shire were absolutely perfect and it didn't take long for us to feel right at home in this historic home set on a small farm in Heath. My son and I had a wonderful overnight stay at Bourke Shire Farm after a whitewater rafting trip. Kara and Bob are wonderful hosts, and we enjoyed relaxing on the rocking chairs on the side porch, going for an evening walk down their country road, and the incredible breakfast. We stayed in the Anna room. It was very spacious, and has a twin bed, queen bed, a fireplace and lots of natural light. Highly recommend driving nearby Route 108A before or after your stay: a beautiful, scenic road.

The Bourke Shire Farm B & B is located in an idyllic location in the countryside in Heath, MA and only 15 minutes from charming Shelburne Falls. We stayed for the weekend and met our son who came in from NYC and our daughter who drove in from the Boston area in order to hike and play golf. We had no expectations, having stayed at several B&Bs over the years that were always very nice. But Bourke Shire Farms is exceptional. Kara and Bob encourage you to make yourself at home, use the living room that has games, books and DVDs (no TV), relax in the sun room, and enjoy the grounds. Three of us hiked in various locations (Mahican-Mohawk Trails, Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary) and one of us played golf at Crumpin Fox Club. My wife and I went up to the Heath area with friends on CiderDays weekend and had a fantastic time. Bob and Kara are great hosts who own the cozy country home. Our room was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. Every morning we had our coffee, juice, fruit and gourmet meals. Kara baked the scones and nut rolls and chef Bob cooked up omelets and french toast with a side of his homemade sausage. Breakfast was made with local ingredients which got our mornings started perfectly. We'll be back again next year!
