I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Boyle, Deveny & Meyer. When I first met with their CPA, I was told my tax preparation fee would be about $100 more than what I paid my previous accountant. That seemed reasonable given that they are a larger firm. What I did not expect was a bill that was $725 higher than that estimate. I was never given a written quote or a fee schedule. This lack of transparency feels misleading at best and deceptive at worst. I sent a formal letter to Boyle, Deveny & Meyer expressing my concerns about their billing practices and received no response whatsoever. That kind of disregard for clients is unacceptable. This firm is full of dedicated intelligent people. Sometimes it can be hard to get through quickly but they are alway on top of the facts.

I first contacted BDM on 1/17/2025 about doing my taxes. Two weeks later on 1/30/2025 I had a short conversation with an employee who asked me basic onboard info and he said that an accountant would reach out in 3 weeks to start my taxes. Today, on 2/18/2025 I received an email from the firm saying that they aren't taking on new clients and wishing me luck. This puts me in a difficult situation finding a new accountant this late into the season. It is also highly unprofessional to string me along for a full month just to tell me they aren' taking on new clients.
