Brooklyn Fish - Chicken & Soul Food

I cant lie, I was very skeptical about this place. However to my surprise the food here was AMAZING... Im a cook and I can be very critical when it comes to Soul Food but I have to give them their just due props.. This food is damn good.. The Collard Greens were PERFECT... The ribs, well seasoned , tender and flavorful. The Mac and cheese was very good . As far as the yams, Ive had better but they weren't bad at all. They may have put Vanilla extract in them that gives it more of a sweet potato pie kind of taste but again not bad at all.. The service could be a little better, the ladies behind the counter seemed a little impatient but they weren't rude necessarily..Just seemed like they worked hard all day and was ready to go.. Ribs were delicious and fell right off the bone. The Mac n cheese was creamy and and sharp. Just how I like it. Could have used some toasted breadcrumbs, but it still hit the spot. The collard greens were perfectly salty and tender. I was craving soul food and this satisfied every craving. Oh, and that corn bread can’t be left unmentioned ! I enjoyed it. It was light and not dry.

Best ribs Ive ever had, they fell right off the bone and the marinade was soo good. The collard greens and mac and cheese hit the spot. Definitely try the red velvet cake too!! The portions were generous and the lady helping me was friendly. This place should be rated 5 stars.

Me and my mom stopped in for once and all I can say is we’ll be back guaranteed. Staff was attentive and kind. We didn’t even wait till we got home to eat, the food was excellent. I got flounder with yams and mac and cheese and my mom got Tilapia with yellow rice.

This is strictly a "takeout" spot, no place to eat-in. However, the food was AMAZING! I ordered 2 fried catfish platters, the fish was cooked when I ordered, so it was good & hot. It comes with two side with a selection of 10 or 11. Very good portions, packed in a way to insure the fish didn't get soggy. Everything was still hot and delicious when I arrived home. Excellent soul food with great choices like chicken (baked, fried & BBQ), meatloaf, ribs, fish (whiting, porgies, catfish, & 4 more), and turkey wings. Plus desserts - all your favorites!
