This is my favorite Brooklyn Public Library that I have visited so far! Visited on the weekend and it wasn't too busy. Very quiet and lots of seating for people to study or hang out. Also just a really nice building with lots of natural light and a cool design. If you're looking for somewhere to get some work done in the area, I would recommend checking this location out! Really nice place and friendly staff. Clean reading space. No quiet zones however not very loud
Nice and new building - but like many of these new structures - it's poorly insulated from the kids and can be very noisy in the two main reading areas (kids are downstairs while teens are upstairs). Seated is limited and you're unlikely to find a spot during peak town. Would only come here to study if you can get here off peak or when it first opens. Otherwise skip l.
I stopped in here on a whim while exploring Brooklyn on a weekend adventure, not quite sure what to expect. What greeted me was one of the most playful, effortlessly elegant libraries I have seen in the United States. Such a lofty statement might sound like hyperbole, but such is not the case. When I was in Norway last summer, I spent a large portion of my trip starry-eyed at what their libraries were like. Clean, elegant, airy spaces, lighted bookcases, and ample public space for people to gather around, along with extensive sections design specifically to be welcoming to children. There was geometric architecture not harsh or utilitarian, but instead encouraged people to spend time in the library. These places were comfortable and stylish, futuristic without being too ostentatious or kit
This is my favorite library in Brooklyn! It’s huge, clean, spacious and (what I would consider to be) quiet. The workers are the nicest people. I manage to get the most studying done here!
