Brooklyn Public Library - Crown Heights Branch

It has some pluses and minuses. It also has numerous patrons who use profanity regularly in 2025, for multiple minutes disturbing the learning environment especially for school age children and high schoolers and even college and pre-med students and adult learners. It is sad that they allow disturbing patrons near children who are also babies and still the vulgarity continues. I understand that some people have recently come out of correctional facilities and have rights to search for employment and improve their english and computer skills, etc., but this should all be done as quietly as possible in a library and in a respectful place. Instead there are people arguing online and on the phone, pleading all their legal cases with lots of anger and vulgarity and what not and disturbing the

This BPL location is on the smaller side but it's the closest one to me so I use it to pick up books on hold. I visited to study once and it was kind of noisy and hard to focus. There was plenty of seating available, some with outlets and some without. Support your local library, get a library card, and utilize their resources! And be kind to your librarians!

Very friendly helpful staff and a spotless facility. I was given instructions on how to use the self service kiosks after having my card activated. Very large selection of books and computers available for use. We will definitely be back!

This one is very loud. I don’t think the people that come here got the memo on how libraries are suppose to be a place you whisper and should be quiet. But it’s close to where I live. so I use it to pick up books and have to go to a cafe to get work done. Ironically a cafe is quieter than this place.

Dont get triggered crown heights library just a truthful review and some advice: Has potential . They need more events that are stem based . Not a good place to go to study because it is extremely loud in there. Children are loud and use profanity. They need a better selection of books. Might need new management. Security does not have branch under control. Some of the staff are helpful. I think staff that work there want to take a stand but are afraid to.
