Brooklyn Public Library - Rugby Branch

I went to this branch on a Saturday. They are not helpful, they are rude, you can smile at them and be nice to the tellers, they will still say obscene remarks to you and deal with you like you aren’t worth anything. They arent helpful. This branch is the worst in Brooklyn, for their customer service. Stay away if you can. Go to the Flatbush Ave branch, not this one. I came in to mail out certified mail. I told the teller I want a signature confirmation for it. She did not put the signature service on there for me and gave me a regular certified mail. I told her politely that’s not what I asked for, and with an attitude she told me “Well I can’t do this for you again, you have to go to the next teller then.” and rolled her eyes. It's one of my favorite library branches. I remember my very first time going to this branch with my dad when I was in fourth grade. This was the place to be on Saturdays. Until I started going there by myself during school days. They have transformed into a beautiful branch . I recently visited this branch last year , and I couldn't believe how much they have changed up the place. Staffing is always so pleasant. Beautiful atmosphere. This will be one of the libraries that I will take my child to when she gets older. Keep up the great way .

Great space with lots of lighting and the outdoor garden is a great place to catch lunch in. As a remote worker, it’s quiet, spacious, and has great amenities for patrons of all ages. :)

Rediscovering my love for the library and its plethora of resources has been such a sweet journey. From my first day coming to this branch, I have felt welcomed by all of the staff — from helping me get a physical library card, to help with checking out books. I come here about 2-4 times a week to get work done and grab some new books and now I consider the library a staple for me. I haven’t utilized the outdoor aspect much, but it’s nice to know that its there should I need some fresh air while on the premises. My only “complaint” is that for a library sometimes it can get a little loud (a bit of an inconvenience when I’m trying to get work done or read). But what can I say? Really good environment and study area. But this is the loudest “library” i have ever been to. My noise cancelling headphones are not working well.
