Brooklyn Public Library - Sheepshead Bay Branch

Sheepshead Bay Library offers great courses and is a cultural center offering different performances. The Steps Into Dance Ballroom Workshop with Oksana Tryakina has been a life changing experience for me. It has given me an opportunity to learn some dances, something that I never experienced until now. It has improved my physical, cognitive, perceptual, and coordination skills and given me an opportunity to meet some nice people. Thank you to Assemblyman Michael Novakhov for supporting a grant that made this possible in winter 2025. It would be great if another grant was available to allow ballroom dances to continue.

Very good concert performed by world-renowned NYC jazz artists! Experience the legendary poet Marina Tsvetaeva through sound- where verse meets rhythm, and resistance becomes music.

Nice location...quiet, lots of books, looks a little overwhelming when first walking in. But nicely organized. Lots of self checkout. No elevators for upstairs or downstairs.

I just want to say a huge thank you for organizing the dance class with Oksana! My life feels brighter and more colorful, and I genuinely look forward to every Tuesday. Please keep it going — and if it were possible, twice a week would be amazing! Sincerely Yelena Aynbinder

Very accessible library as it is just a short 5 minute walk from the Q stop. Not my local library but stopped in because they were having a $1 book sale and thought I'd check it out! Looks small from the outside but there are three levels inside and two of them have a good amount of seating.
