Brownsville Free Public Library

I love this library. Every time we visit, the librarian so very kind to us and you can tell this is a labor of passion for her. Her eyes light up talking about how amazing the WAGGIN system is and has tons of helpful knowledge to share. It's really helped me get back in touch with reading. I used to walk from Pike Mine to this library almost every day after school as a kid and coming back felt like home. The welcoming librarian I've had the pleasure of interacting with just furthers that feeling of comfort. Lots of changes made in recent years but all good things ans I love to see it. It will always be a second home to me no matter how far life takes me.

Who in the world runs the Brownsville Public Library ? The women that works there literally just screamed at my kids multiple times and disciplined them right in front of me for doing next to nothing ! I have to take my severely autistic son there to get tutored and this was the only place available I had no choice but to bring my kids they literally complained because when my kids cleaned up they put the toys in the wrong spot. She looks at my son with disgust when we walk in and is down right nasty and not a friendly person at all. My 8 year old asked me what her problem was and why she was so mean he said I just wanted to check out the books and she screamed at me!! I can honestly say out of everywhere we have ever been this is the worst we have ever been treated! If I could give you

Aside from the fact that I love love love libraries in general mainly because I have a great love for books, this particular library is one of the best. It has a cozy appeal coupled with modern technology. It offers new releases, classics, DVD's, periodicals, computers for public use, special events for children, teens and adults. If there's a book that isn't available, they have a computer to search for that title at other libraries in the area. Once located and selected, that title will be sent to this library. Then they either call or email you that it's ready for you to check out. I love this wonderful option because it opens up any and all books to everyone all of the time. I know that anything and everything is a mere click away on the internet, but in my humble opinion, there is not
